PART 2.a - In Character Non-WH13/Eureka Canon Characters (Skip/delete if not applicable)
Full Name: Luna Lovegood
Nicknames: Loony Lovegood
DOB/Age: 17, August 16 1981 (never confirmed in canon so using Evanna Lynch's birthday)
Birthplace: Ireland
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Species: Human/Witch
Fandom: Harry Potter
Journal: radishearring
PB: Evanna Lynch
Holoprojection Human Interface PB: NA
Canon Point: During the escape from Malfoy Manor in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Appearance: Luna to the untrained eye appears to look like your average teenager with a love of thrift stores. She's a 5'2 blonde (partial to ponytails and body waves) with dark blue eyes. But at the moment she's also much too thin for her frame thanks to months of torture and little to no food. As for clothes she embraces the vintage side of fashion and could be mistaken for a modern day hippie thanks to her bell bottom jeans (when out of robes) and sweaters. She's also not afraid of being herself, after all she does wear radishes as earrings.
History: Over the course of a few books Luna Lovegood has bloomed from the girl not exactly liked to a strong and capable young woman. She met the trio during her 4th year while on the train to Hogwarts. She was quickly adopted into the group since she was also in the same year as Ron Weasley's sister Ginny. During the course of that year she lent a hand in her own way to help Harry out via setting up interviews with Rita Skeeter to name one. She also joins Dumbledore's Army. She also escapes Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad with several others via a variety of hexes and jinxes. Luna was also part of the group in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, coming out almost unscathed and proving there was more to her than meets the eyes. She also was the one to give Harry much needed support after the death of Sirius Black (his godfather). That next year she was a brief commentator at Quidditch, turns out she's pretty awful at it. She was also a part of the Battle of the Astronomy Tower near the end of that same year, coming out almost unscathed once again before attending the funeral of Dumbledore. She also won't talk much about certain things from that year along with things related to Umbridge's time at Hogwarts, at the time it just made more sense to her to only trust a select few out of caution. Plus if she's being honest she's also doing it to protect the people she cares about.
That next year while the trio was on the quest to stop Voldmort she along with Neville and Ginny revived Dumbledore's Army. But over the Christmas holidays she was kidnapped from the train because of her father's support of Harry. She was rumored to have been held at Azkaban but instead she was held in Malfoy Manor.
(headcanon to fill in blanks for book 7)
During book 7 while Luna was held in Malfoy Manor she was the target of torture by the Death Eaters. They figured the more they hurt her the faster she would spill the location of Harry Potter and the rest of the group. But she never wavered and never said a word: taking the frequent beatings and abuse with a brave face while hiding the fact she was ankle deep in emotional hell. But eventually she along with Dobby and Mr. Ollivander are rescued from the manor and she is snatched by the camera during the escape to Shell Cottage.
Due to her time held in Malfoy Manor Luna's not in the best of shape period. Its nothing to warrant a quick trip to the doctor (due to some major on the fly treatment from her friends post rescue) but its bad enough for people to worry and talk her into seeing one. She's currently dealing with a possible broken wrist (thankfully not her wand hand), tons of cuts and bruises, lack of sleep, not enough food (but not an eating disorder) and plenty of emotional/mental garbage to eventually work through.
Previous Game History, IF APPLICABLE: NA
Personality: Luna is a classic nonconformist in every sense of the word. She is very unafraid of being who she is and is not self-consciousness in any respect. She is also very perceptive since she landed in Ravenclaw while at Hogwarts. She also seems to have a ditzy look about her but is not the type. But in spite of the quirks her heart is ten times louder. Its a side not many seen since most people think she's a nut, but Luna does have a huge heart and a gentle spirit. She keeps the true friends close and is always gaining newfound friends. She is also loyal to everyone around her and sees the best in everyone, especially in people others have doubts about.
She also has a way of being totally honest at times. Luna is very unflappable and rarely seemed anxious or under stress, even under difficult circumstances such as being held in Malfoy Manor during her 6th year.. Granted post Manor she's keeping her private pain under wraps to simply not worry her friends and family since she was scared of letting people see her hurting.
She is also smarter and tougher than she looks. She was sorted into Raverclaw House upon her arrival at Hogwarts at 11 years old. At 16 Luna co-led Dumbledore's Army along with her friends Ginny Weasley and Neville Longbottom. Add in her very creative nature, her skills in duelling and her insight into people and things around her and that shows there is more to Luna than meets the eyes. She's just radiates sunshine along with her unique brand of sparkle.
But in the aftermath of Malfoy Manor and being tortured Luna is somewhat darker when she gets snatched by the camera. But with time and support she'll quickly recover (abet with occasional setbacks) and bloom into the girl she's always been: a free spirit with a huge heart who embraces what and who she is.
Special facts/special abilities about your character: A true nonconformist, very unflappable, not easily freaked out, talented artist, very kind hearted, loyal to her friends, talented at duels, magical skills, good leader, patient and accepting of people. Also near professional at hiding her feelings from Muggles.
What is arriving with your character? Wand, earrings shaped like radishes, necklace made from a Butterbeer cork, very tattered clothes on her back
PART 3 - Writing Samples
1. First Person Writing Sample: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/belorenetwork/298591.html?style=mine#comments (as Luna)
2. Third Person Writing Sample: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/belorelogs/83663.html (as Luna)
3. First or Third person Sample: 1st person five sentences minimum, 3rd person 250 words (ex: reaction to arriving, first time using the Farnsworth.)
(Luna had been asleep on and off for most of the last few days since she was snatched from the basement of Malfoy Manor. But when she woke up long enough to make another attempt at getting the tangles out of her hair she spotted the Farnsworth. She then made a decision,"Time to try this thing out and see if its anything like Howlers." She flipped open the device and after some trial and error she had success. The device now shows a teenage girl who has not had a good few months. She's still got nasty dark circles under her eyes and looks like she not only needs more sleep but a few decent meals. But she finally speaks.)
Am I doing this right? I guess since I'm among Muggles its time to offically say hello, so hi I'm Luna and well the last couple of days have been a complete blur. Still trying to understand this world and well I can also use some extra clothes if there are any ladies who can help?
And did I hear the sounds of either some moon frogs or a crumple horned snorkack?
